Flying in

The closest international airport is Hanoi — Nội Bài International Airport (HAN), roughly 1½ to 2 hours from the venue by road.

There are no direct flights from New Zealand or the UK, so you'll connect somewhere — Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Doha and Dubai are all common one-stop routes into Hanoi.

We'll get you from Hanoi

You don't need to arrange a car. We're organising transport from Hanoi to the venue and back again for guests travelling in.

Just tell us your arrival date and time in the message box when you RSVP, and we'll make sure there's a seat for you. If your plans change later, message Robert directly.

Visas — New Zealand passports

New Zealand passport holders do need a visa. Vietnam is not visa-free for New Zealanders, whatever the length of the stay.

The straightforward option is the government e-visa: up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, applied for online. Allow a few working days for it to come back, and apply well before you fly.

Official Vietnamese e-visa portal — apply here and nowhere else. There are many lookalike sites that charge a large mark-up for the same thing.

Visas — UK passports

British citizens can currently enter Vietnam without a visa for up to 45 days, for tourism, which covers a wedding trip comfortably.

Your passport needs at least 6 months' validity from the date you arrive, 2 blank pages, and no damage. Staying longer than 45 days means applying for the 90-day e-visa instead.
